- Learn about you and your business
We take the time to find out about you and your practice, what your goals are, preferences, platform needs, and how your retirement horizon impacts recruiting decisions made today. It’s only then that we can be effective in consulting and supporting you through this process.
- Help determine the right independent model
We share the different independent model options from pure independence to more structured and supported independent options to get pointed in the right direction.
- Share and compare firm options
There have never been more independent options for Breakaways to consider. We help you cut through the industry noise and the enormity of possibilities by sharing and comparing the best-in-class options to consider.
- Select firms for due diligence
Help narrow your choices to the few best choices to initiate due diligence on. There are multiple “right” decisions Breakaways can make and we start with a few targeted firms to begin the process of which firm/option is most “right” for the Breakaway and work backwards from there if more options are needed.
- Prepare you to be prepared
Most all firms need similar information about your practice to do their initial due diligence on you. We’ll help you get your checklist of items organized and prepared in advance to make the process as smooth and expedited as possible.
- Options confidentially exploredWe introduce you to the key people at the selected firms you want to explore deeper. We help you through the due diligence process in exploring the details of the firm/option to discover which firm the Breakaway has the best synergy with including culture, platform, compensation, and support.
- Help maximize your offer
For most all options there is room for negotiation. We’ve seen what firms can do for other Breakaways and where exceptions can be made. For most options we know the difference between stated deals and where a firm’s real line in the sand is. We are confident Breakaways get a better deal package with Advisorbox than without.
- Be your Protocol nanny
While exercising good faith in following protocol is of course the Breakaway Broker’s ultimate responsibility, we deal with Broker Protocol all the time and remind Breakaways what they can and can’t do during the recruiting process. Before Breakaways transition they speak with legal at the firm they are joining or affiliating with as well as their own protocol lawyer, but mistakes can be made before this happens if Breakaways aren’t careful from the very beginning.
- Pre-Transition support
Once you have selected the firm and accepted the offer the real work begins. We help support your transition preparation by working with you and the firm’s transition manager assigned to you, to help keep things from falling through the cracks. We make sure the incoming firm is ready for you on day one.
- The Breakaway day
From the day of our first conversation to the day the broker resigns from the wirehouse and officially becomes a Breakaway Broker, we are there for you. We strive to make the breaking away process a rewarding experience and to have your biggest question be, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
