After spending 15 years owning and operating wealth advisor recruiting and consulting centric firms, I am deeply appreciative of the opportunities the financial services industry has provided. I’m truly fortunate to work with advisors whose profession plays such a critical role in our society, and in the financial well-being of their clients.
Prospecting through recruiting cold calls has always been the foundation of our business development. Since 2003, my team has made over 2,000,000 outbound recruiting cold calls to advisors.
Most of these calls resulted in left messages or voicemails (so many voicemails), gatekeeper blocks, wrong numbers, advisors who were no longer at the firm, and conversations with advisors who were not interested in exploring their recruiting options at that exact time. But the small percentage of advisors we were able to reach, at the right time in their career, and help transition to a more suitable model or firm for their preferences and goals, made it all worth it.
While I believe recruiting calls play an important role in helping advisors to be more informed about their options and opportunities, we’re going to give advisors a break from at least our part of the recruiting cold calls they receive for the next year.
Advisorbox will not make any recruiting cold calls for the entirety of 2019.
